In this article, the authors updated the methodological substantiation of the content of the swimming system for children. This argument is based not only on the age characteristics of those involved but on the norms and standards of motor activity of children. Using the analysis of classical and modern medical literature and pedagogy of childhood, we identified the issues of forming the content of the swimming training system for children and elaborated ways to solve them, suggesting the selection of adequate means and methodological.
